Admin Edit:

The 228i coupe will join the M235i coupe as the first two 2 Series models available in the US. Both models will begin production in November 2013, as a 2014 model year.

The following spy photos of the M235i shows you what to expect underneath the camouflage in terms of the car's sides and the front end - with a different front bumper design of course.

This car is going to be a winner for sure. Any power specs on the M235i?

You can expect the same power output as the M135i - about 315hp, as they will share the same engine.

Specs revealed via a VIN search confirms this: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=799090

I've never seen that colour in the flesh. It's quite different.

Basically the 3 series is reborn the way it should be.

I bet it shares similar dimensions with the E46.

Exactly the return of the e46, but lighter, more power and better fuel economy

Exactly, I was looking at a 5 series the other day and it was as big as an older 7 series. The new 3er is probably close to an older 5 series so this 2 will be juuuuuussssssssttttttt rrrrrriiiiiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhtttttttt.

Looks like a great entry level coupe. I like the dimensions more than the current one series

We do not see any spy shots of the gran-coupe yet. I need sedan (actually I would prefer wagon, but I bet "you don't always get what you want"), and as everybody else, I feel the F30 is just too much of everything.

In a somewhat related note, the 2er will have a better selection of performance options than the 4er at introduction.

Anyone notice the m badge on the side of the car similar to the 4 series coupe.... I hope this isn't a trending thing with BMW

Line badging is thankfully something that BMW NA doesn't burden us with, yet.

To me, the 1 series coupe was not as pretty or elegant as the 3 series. I never viewed it as an alternative

But I think this new 2 is stunning. We will have to wait for final pics, but I will at least consider it instead of the 4.

I guess I was just a generation ahead of you, I really disliked the size, weight and style of the E92 and bought an E82 instead. I like the F32 more than the E92, but it's no smaller, so will likely consider the F22 instead, or wait for the 2er GC, as I'd prefer a full set of doors this time around.

So does that mean there's not going to be just a normal 235? It's just going to go straight to the M235? If so, what's going to be so special about the M235 if it's the only other option than the 228. Seems like an Audi-esq move if you ask me. Bigger engine choice on the same car comes with an "S" badge ("M" in our case)

Correct, no 235i.

Jason, my spidey senses tell me that your chart shows no available manual for the US? Hopefully that's just early info, right? If I need to drive to New Jersey and rough up some execs, I'd like to start planning that now.
