Switzer Tune...Update!

Well got the Switzer Tune installed and the results are impressive.
91 Octane with temperatures of 95+ degrees. So this tune is the real deal with gains across the board, car feels amazing!

RPiM5 (Dave) and i will be doing some additional testing tomorrow

Here is the before and after. My best ever before dyno pull with Charcoal Filter Delete, Eisenmann, 91 Octane and Temps of 73F.

I didn't realize they are selling just the tune instead of the P700 package with the exhaust. Did you also do the drop-in filters?

Yes i also did drop in filters, but no exhaust.

Very happy with results. I'm sure if temps were lower and i had 93 octane i would break 600whp.

So you and rpim5 are going to do some runs 30-160mph.

He has catless straight pipe and no tune.

You have tune and drop in filter only.

Look forward to results.

My prediction:

You will walk away from rpim5.

Nico, excellent gains as we discussed yesterday. Ill come find you guys today if you are local and I am able to break free from the labors of love called my part time job.

My thoughts on your pending Mexico race are:

From a dig you will have an interesting run. Your TQ numbers are stout and the grip of the 295's will be put into question along with the active differential. I see Dave pulling out of the hole better from a dig. But once you catch traction you will be gone.

I pulled both your dynos just for fun. We all know these were done on different days with different conditions and of course we are seeing your best runs each below I believe but at least its the same dyno. You clearly have the numbers thru the sweet spot pull ranges so if you do a nice 30-160 run you will walk him nicely provided you start in the right gear and catch your shifts. Your cars are not that far apart to allow for driver error and we all know that Dave is a freak show driver. Again its all fun with dynos and predictions but you clearly have the beast with added boost.

Your Dyno at EAS

Daves Dyno at EAS

Vic,
I understand about different days; different conditions, etc but look at the huge difference in the base line runs. Is that right or am I missing something here?

The base line on Nico's was done months back (I think late 2012) and I dont know whose base line was on Dave's dyno but its not his... Good eye Bish.

Dudes,

Just caught this thread. Vic I will PM you and give you the secret location of the race that many Bothans died to get.

Actually the dyno that Vic posted of my runs at EAS are of my run 16, which was not my best run (although it produced the highest peak horsepower that I've ever made at EAS) vs this guys Merc C63 AMG with a Cobb Tune. My run 15 was the most acurate of all my runs with the catless downpipes.

After analyzing both Niko's and my dyno charts yesterday, I predict that he will definitely beat me in a 60-130 race and in a race from a dig. Either way it will be an interesting race between a legitimately tuned F10 M5 in the USA and the fastest F10 M5 in the USA without a tune. I say legitmately because I have not seen any other tune here in the U.S. produce such high numbers in real life. Notice how I keep saying here in the USA, meaning not Manhart or PP Peformance which are tuned for Euro Spec M5's.

I will be shooting video and pictures tonight of our get together / races (in Mexico) so stay tuned.

Also, I don't mean to antagonize or pour salt into old wounds, but if ColdList is reading this, this is how you properly help the community out and be a team player. Lol!

May the Force be with us,

On mine the baseline was not my original stock baseline which is a bit lower 531whp or so. We did the comparative baseline off my best dyno pull after eisnemann install and charcoal filter delete which translated to the numbers above in blue.

Just driving the you can really feel the torque difference with the switzer tune. Feels like an AMG..haha

What I should of done yesterday is dyno with stock map (bypass) plug and then dyno with tune map, on the same day. To keep the conditions consistent. Next time.

Switzer is charging $3,000 for just the tune and the drop in filters.

Had a great time hanging with Dave yesterday and his car sounds and feels like a MONSTER!! Holly crap if you haven't heard his car in person, DO IT! We scared a few Ferraris and other exotics in Laguna Beach yesterday.

Thanks to dave videos will be posted later tonight, so i will wait to comment as results were very interesting.

In the meantime to hold everyone over i did a few 0-60 tests measuring using my P3cars digital interface this morning.

My previous results same stretch of road using D3 w/ MDM from a dead stop. 4.21 sec was my best time ever. Avg always around 4.4

Well this am i just ripped a 3.89 and 4.07. definitely more torque down low as i get a ton of wheel spin.

Guys I'll be working on editing the video tonight and somehow manage to squeeze in time to hang with BarryB and Rob///M5 for a Pint O' Beer as well. Don't worry epic video to come! Last nights results between our cars were very interesting indeed!

One thing we figured out for sure last night is always start in 2nd gear on a rolling race. I messed up being in 3rd and Dave was in 2nd on a 60mph roll.. And holly crap Dave got a sold car plus car lead in a blink of an eye. Remember 2nd gear

The Switzer tune seems to be a decent tune. Nice numbers OP. Nice curve too, the car is making HP up to the redline. No sign of boost bombing that most tuners do to new turbo engines in mid range. (Check tuned AMG M157 for instance, they make peak HP
at 5000 RPM!)

Looks like the DME is pulling timing. (That's just a wild guess based on differences between OEM and tuned curve) With higher octane you will definitely break into 600whp range. Then there are the super restrictive downpipes...

BTW, 0-60 becomes meaningless when you make 600whp, 60-130 is the way to go. Enjoy your beast in good health.
