Did your dealer pick you up for your delivery?

It never made sense to me, how are you suppose to pick your car up in your old car if you can only drive one at a time. I know people get friends or family to drop them off, but what if you don't or if they're unavailable at the time of delivery?

Did your dealer pick you up? Is it something they should do, if you ask for it?

Sure, if I had no way to get there I would hope my sales person would pick my up. I mean you just made him some cash, he should give you a lift if he wants to collect that cash

I've thought about this exact thing too because I might not trade in my vehicle. According to my dealer's site they have shuttle service but that is for in service vehicles. I'll have to ask.

i really didn't make my dealer too much profit ($300 for the dealership + whatever hidden profits they already have in the invoice price) since i negotiated the lowest possible price (for my area). i still expect him to treat me nice though, so i hope he does arrange a pick-up that day.

I once called my saleman, he said he was busy because he has to deliver a car to a customer. So, if you can't pick up, i think they can deliver the car to you. If you don't mind they drive your NEW car to you.

I mentioned to my dealer it may be difficult for me to get to the dealership when my vehicle arrived. By the way I purchased out of town due to a better deal, the dealership is about an 1.5 hr drive. He drove the vehicle to me which was a bit disconcerting due to not being the "first" driving but I received such a good deal and the service was so good throughout the purchase process I didn't mind. So when he got to my house the tank was refilled and the car was detailed. A pretty good first impression for the dealership!

didn't he just mean that a customer is there finalizing paperwork and picking up their car? i think it needs to be done at the dealership, may be wrong though. and of course i'd mind them driving it for the first time. if i see any more than 2-3 miles on the odometer, i don't want the car! i want to be the one to break the hymen on my girl

They'll pick you up. I had mine driven to me as I was on call so I couldn't go up to them (although they offered to pick me up). If they don't pick you up.... well then they're cheap bastards IMO.

Did they send you a car to pick you up? or your saleman actually pick you up?

I might ask them to pick me up when I pick up my baby.

When he drove my car down he was followed by another salesman in a loaner. He spent about an hour at my house going over the car and then I gave him a check and signed a few papers.

LOL ever heard of public transportation?

I'll probably have a rental by the time my car arrives, so I'll just have the rental car place give me a ride to the dealership.

If not, I'll take public transportation and get a ride to the dealership from the BART (subway) stop.
