2014 M5 Competition Package Exhaust Specs

Can anybody confirm the just released Competition Package for the 2014 M5 & M6. Is the Sport exhaust just the stock exhaust with black tips or is the stock exhaust replaced with a completely new Sport exhaust system from BMW Performance, Eisenmann or Akrapovic?

Biermann at BMW ///M explained that the sound is indeed different and more aggressive with the sport exhaust, but it is not the Akrapovic. So, unknown what that means. Perhaps they removed some baffling from the stock exhaust.

The Akra alone lists for more than the entire competition package price, so doubtful that it is included.

The Arka/BMW sport exhaust is a separate option. The tweaked exhaust with the black tips that is in the comp. package is different than the Arka/BMW sport exhaust that we saw here a few months ago.

That was for the upcoming BMW Performance exhaust, not Competition Package. It's definitely confusing.

There are two version of this exhaust ?

http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=832018

1 is called performance exhaust (from the above link) and another one is called sport exhaust (grouped under the competition pkg). If so, def. kind of confusing.

Is there a video or sound clip of the latter ?

The exaust in your link is a separate stand alone option and is the Arka exaust. This is NOT included in comp package. There are videos of the 2014 comp package M5 on the ring and you can heat the exaust included in the comp package.

From the FAQ I just posted at: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=861925

The M5/M6 Competition package exhaust is positioned in between the stock and the upcoming M Performance Exhaust (by Akra). It has bigger sound but features no flow or power changes.

If it is the forthcoming BMW Motorsports Muffler System it will sound good. There are 2 Youtube videos out now that let you get a sneak peek. The videos are from April and mention that they will be out for sale before the end of the year. Cost will be somewhere around where they have priced it for the V10 model just under 4k. Sounds very good though.
