Egr delete

Hi all, I have an e90 320d lci and was wondering what is involved to disable the egr as I do a fair amount of town driving with a lot of short trips, would like to keep the engone as clean as possible.

I think that you would also need to consider a DPF delete and associated remap as the EGR has the effect of cleaning up the gases which end up being sent through the DPF. Others will correct me if I have this wrong.

I am looking to do a remap soon but not the dpf removal as there's nothing wrong with it currently.
Would a mapper be able to stop the function of the egr through the map only ?

Possibly but my point is that disabling the EGR will increase the pollutants entering the DPF which the DPF is not designed to cope with so you could clog up the DPF before its time. The EGR I believe is designed to recirculate a portion of the exhaust gases to be burned again through the inlet manifold. This results in reduced emission pollutants entering the DPF and thence the exhaust - all part of meeting the Euro IV emission spec.
