I added a sub to my HK F30 system which has really rounded out the decent system the HK already is. I was just missing the lower end at times.
You'll probably want to PM Technic for a LC2i LOC and Harness that will allow you to run a signal from the OEM amp woofer outputs to an aftermarket amp to power your sub and optionally the woofers under the seats. I used a leftover JL Audio 700/5 to power a JL Audio 10W3V3 2 ohm sub and it pulls in missing lower end frequencies and matches perfectly with the HK. I may try to power the subs under the seats later instead of sending the OEM amp signal. That will allow me to use two more channels on the 700/5. But for now it sounds great with the 300W going to the sub. You need the LOC to get the high 35V+ peaks from the OEM amp woofer outputs to the aftermarket amp without issue, and Technic's harness allows all of the other speakers in the car to remain powered by the OEM amp. I followed this thread to configure the settings on the LC2i. For remote turn on signal you'll need to tap pin 10 at the back of the iDrive unit on the F30. I was not able to locate the thin black wire near the passenger rear seat that others have found. Highly recommended upgrade. |
