Has anyone used the WeissLicht LED angel eye bulbs? I found that you can buy them from Bavarian Auto under part # LHUXX3W2Y90, or Bimmian from here http://www.bimmian.com/WeissLicht-LE...r-E91-3-Series. Below is also a video of the installation from Bavarian Auto.

I need to replace my stock angel eye bulbs and I'd like to go LED or at least get rid of the amber halos.

Your thoughts?

I have, they burned out and I threw them away. Also not very bright at all

leds should not burn out that quickly so if they did i dont think u shuld risk getting those...hands down recommend lux leds i had them before i went custom and throw in some powerful led turn signals to make the headlights clean and white :] lmk if u want pics of my old setup

I'm not trying to go cheap, just trying to find something that will work well, be bright and last. I've been looking at these http://www.hid-lights.com/products/l...w/1102989W.htm as well based on other people's input, but these are less than half the price of the WeissLicht LED.

Another question is, what version did you use? Bimmian now has v3.

As for the lux, I'm not sure which ones will work for me. Do you have a part number? Also, any pics would be great!

it depends wut headlight setup do u have? i have halogens so lux halogens is wut i got and its the best choice for stock

The LED's used there are quite outdated and are not very efficent at all. They would not produce that much light resulting in dim angel eyes. We offer the LUX E90 V5.2 lights whcih are the brightest ones we have been able to produce. You can get them from the Products tab on our website. We also have pictures there and also in the threads linked in our signature

100% plug and play, no modifications etc. $175 is the best price we offer, and they are available on our website.

Lux or nothing- plug-and-play wise for LED upgrades there is no other (good) choice!

There are NO LED's, that are installed to replace incandescent bulbs, CANBUS or not, that will not flicker upon startup.

The flickering is caused by the OEM bulb check system that sends small current to each exterior bulb upon startup to see if any are burnt out.

This small current is not enough to lite an incandescent bulb, but more than enough to lite an LED since they need way less current.

If you are going to put LED's in any exterior position, on a car that didn't not have LED's from factory - only way to get rid of the flickering is by coding out the Cold/Warm bulb checks for that particular light...

BTW - I use the LUX Reverse LED's in my LCI Tail conversion & couldn't be happier

I appreciate the replies. I understand why the flickering happens, I was just hoping there was some miracle solution bulb out there that perhaps didn't suffer from it, but I am not surprised there isn't considering the technology involved.

The LUX solution is nice (I have the LUX halos in my LCI) but expensive for backup lights. You get what you pay for, I suppose.
