BMW Connected Update 2.1
Can anyone tell what the update to BMW Connected did to the App? The update description is very short and generic.
I suspect the app needed updated to support the AppSwitcher feature for Pandora and other apps that have not updated to sync with BMW Connected yet. |

It now shows you a list of all apps which work with Idrive, and which support app switching. Also it seems that there are more canned Facebook status updates, but I've got no interest in that.
Pandora still doesn't support app switching. |

At least the free version of TuneIn finally works -- though I can't think of a reason to use it given the Web Radio app.

I am dissappointed that it is taking so long. I an anxious for Pandora to be AppSwithcher ready. That and Audible are two apps I would use together with the connected features.

AppSwitcher is a huge step forward in terms of not needing to handle the phone while driving-- and worked well when I tried it out yesterday for the first time. Now I can see how Glympse may actually be usable once it has updated its app as planned. BMW Apps was a well spent $250. I'm inpatient for Pandora to update as well.

KOWBOI- not sure about update for Canada.
But if you launch the Connected app when not connected to your car, then click "information" at the bottom of the screen, then click "BMW Apps ready" at the top of the screen. This then shows available apps from the iTunes Store as well as apps loaded on your iPhone. You need to have at least on these apps downloaded. When you then connect your iphone by USB to your car, launch the Connected App. In iDrive look under "Connected Drive" followed by Apps. You should the list of available Apps on your iPhone. Be patient when changing apps, it takes a few seconds for the new selection to launch. Hope this helpful. |
