I have iphone 5 and can get the little envelope on my nav idrive display but I never get an audible notification. Is there a way to recieve an audible notification when receiving text messages while connected blue tooth.

The only way I know how to, is turn the volume up on your iPhone. The audio will only be heard from your iPhone speaker.

If Bluetooth audio is turned to "On", you can't hear an audible alert from your iPhone.

If Bluetooth audio is turned of "Off", you can hear an audible alert from your iPhone.

I don't stream audio, so I always keep Bluetooth audio turned "Off".

My Bluetooth audio is on and I can feel it vibrate in my pants pocket when I get a message.

In the bluetooth menu on your phone, tap the blue arrow next to your car to get the preferences menu for that device. Make sure "Show Notifications" is on. That should do it.
