Does the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP have the same impact bubble issue like other RFT

Been running the oem bridgestone rft and have experienced this impact bubble crap many times already. Well, my tire insurances has just expired, and the current set needs to be replace soon. So does the better Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP have the same issue with potholes and bubbles?

I have no issues with RFT's performances, but I really do not want to deal with impact bubbles anymore, especially now with no more insurances. I would pick the michelin RFT if it doesnt get bubbles, otherwise I'll switch out to regular tires such as pilot super sports. has anyone gotten a bubble with the RFT michelin?

I have the Michelin's, and I have a bubble on one of the fronts. It was there when I bought the car a few months back, so I can't say how it happened, but cleary it can happen with them as well.

I haven't gotten any bubble issues with this set (Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP) so far. I can't really say though because I just replaced it about ~1500 miles ago. I know for a fact it's better than the OEM bridgestones for sure. Much more comfortable and lightweight forgiving. Check out Costco for their tire deals. They have a pretty good warranty for the tires IIRC. Pretty pricy though.

I do have costco membership and want to buy/install the tires from them due to warrant and service, but according to their website, they do not offer the pilot sport ZP nor the super sports. if anyone has been able to get either of these tires from costco, can you post the part number so that I can buy it online from them.

So it sounds like the michenlin rft gets bubbles as well. over the last five years, i have went thur about 6 tires with bubbles, and only 1 with a nail, which all was replace with insurances.

I would imagine that they'd still be susceptible to bubbles, just like any other tire would be.

Anyone know why some 335i comes with michelins and others come with bridgestones? Which is better?

They seem a bit less susceptible than the Bridgestones but they still have issues. I cannot fathom why anyone would continue to keep runflats once they wear out.

So you can have the satisfaction of driving to the nearest tire shop under your own power to buy a new $400 tire since they can't be patched. :-)

I have no experience with the specific Michelins you are discussing, but in general I have a very high opinion of Michelin tires and it'd take either a screaming deal or a very specific, consistently well reviewed tire (e.g. Blizzak or DWS) to get me to consider something other than Michelin.

I did have some Potenza something or others on one of my old VWs and they seemed to be good, but I find the stock 'stones on our E9xs to be very harsh.

50K miles (after replacing the OEM Bridgestones) on PS2 ZP's on my sport package and nary a bubble. But no curbs and few potholes. Didn't have any bubbles on the RE050As, either.

I've gotten all my PS2 ZP's from Costco, for the poster that asked. IMO, the PS2's are a little quieter and better riding than the Bridgestones, but they are newer, too.

FYI, I'll be putting on my go-flat Bridgestone LM-60 snow setup today, and their ride is hardly better than the RFT Michelins, even though they're /45 profile rather than /40 front and /35 rear.
