I know Steve and I've been a faithful Dinan customer for over 20 years. I just don't see anything coming on the M5. JMO

I say 20never. BMW will have a tune later this year. It will cost about $100k plus though. But I heard it comes with a car at that cost....lol

Hi Steve, It is in R&D and it will come to fruition when we are done. It is hard for me to predict when, but we hope to release it this year. Regards, Asbjorn Bohn ESS Performance Products USA Inc. E-Mail : asbjorn@esstuning.com Web : http://www.esstuning.com Tel : (480)525-9160 |

Yup. Also heard this from someone who knows Steve very well (mutual friend). They were working on an ECU and apparently, like everyone else, the encryption is too much. Looks like BMW has effectively locked everyone out with the exception of the one file. Best thing you can do for now is downpipes. Fortunately, they make a nice difference on turbo cars.

Perhaps BMW has decided to capture that business, or at minimum not "cooperate" with DINAN as in the past. Without any warranty support the DINAN tunes are no better than the competition.
Just thinking out loud. Otherwise there would be a product in place. At least an exhaust...

What they have done with the software on the 550i is utterly AMAZING so I am holding out SOME hope that they come out with a tune for the M cars. |

Every encryption can be broken.
