Screwed.
Took delivery of my F30 yesterday!
Love everything about this car, it's amazing, coming from an older BMW. That said, it has every option I wanted tuned to my taste ... except Extended bluetooth (didn't realize this at order time) Why oh why didn't I get this option! Only would have upped my lease payments like $5 more a month. As I just took delivery, is there anyway to have it retrofitted and rolled into the lease? Probably not is my guess, just wondering what my options are. Not thrilled that 2014's get native iPhone 5+ playback and syncing, where as my 2013 needs the Y cable and bluetooth isn't fully adapted. |

Sucks to throw down $650+ in parts since it's a lease and would have only cost me $200-220 overall. Thanks! |

You may have the needed combox anyway, have you checked?
First, I assume you have the older CIC/Entry head unit, not the new NBT one, right? If so, then check under the trunk cover (it comes all the way out). At the back right you should see the fuses, and at the back left, do you have a silver box with wires coming out of it? If so, the enhanced Bluetooth can probably be enabled via coding. If there is just a big hole there, then you are SOL. |

Maybe this will help you locate combox. As Frogman said, its under trunk floor. Just lift it out. Will be to the left of fuebox just behind rear seat back.

Assuming you don't have nav, I don't think you can simply just retrofit the combox. You need a different HU as well. I attempted this earlier this year via Bimmertech; Patryk and Aleks (Alekshop in CA) couldn't get the HU to accept any of the commands, and told me the HU would need to be replaced as well.
Hopefully Patryk works out a solution ..but I'm sure with parts+labor, it'll get pricey. |

Thanks for your help everyone.
I will have to check the trunk tomorrow. Do I need any tools to access the location where the combo box should be? It's a 13, so it has CIC and not NBT, and unless I just got lucky, I'd guess there is no combo box ... |
