Broken Bolts On 3 Piece Wheels? Wth?

For those of you running with 3 piece wheels, like myself, have you ever experienced a situation where bolts broke causing air to leak? It didn't happen on my M5, but it did on my Escalade (24" Asanti wheels) where 10 bolts broke! First time for me. Hoping to get some insight so it won't happen on any of us cruising at 100+ mph.

I've never understood the point of 3 piece wheels on a performance car. My recollection is that the original design of the 3 piece wheel was to allow changing the wheel width at the track using the same face etc...

Granted they look cool, but for weight and performance I would think monoblock is best.

The broken bolt issue you mention is frightening!!!!!!

I'm guessing your 24's have low profile tires? Low profile tires+ heavy SUV is probably a lot of stress on the wheels.

Yes (305-35-24) tires. Well after 5 years, there could be some metal fatigue. I'm having the rest of the bolts checked/replaced on the other wheels as well.
