Seeking wheel recommendations

We have a 2011 328xi sedan that my wife uses for daily commutes to NYC (fairly bad roads). Standard suspension, stock 17x8 ET 34 wheels with 225/45-17 run-flats. For last winter we used a TireRack package consisting of 17" Rial Salernos with 225/45-17 Blizzaks. The tires did great. The wheels not so much. In the spring before switching back to the stock setup, we noticed a pretty significant vibration at highway speed. Turns out that three of the four Rial wheels were slightly bent. (Of course, our local BMW dealer was willing to straighten them at $150 a piece, followed by a $250 4-wheel alignment. Add tax, and out the door for $800+. This, proposed for wheels that cost $139 a piece new from TireRack. No thanks, BMW dealer. )

So now thinking about mounting the Blizzaks on the stock BMW wheels for winter duty, as they're likely significantly stronger than the Rials.

For the non-winter setup, considering something like the Apex ARC-8 in 17" or 18". Looking for a wheel in the $200-300 range new, that looks good and is relatively strong. From what I've read, the Apexes would seem to do the trick. Would also prefer not to use spacers. Has anyone done the 17X8 Apex ARC-8 in the more aggressive ET 20 offset? Rubbing issues? Any other suggestions welcome--is it possible to do a slightly wider Apex wheel with, say, 245/40-17 tires, without spacers, and without rubbing issues? We don't plan on changing the suspension or springs.

Thanks in advance.
