Bye bye D. Hello isf

Hey guys. After 8 trips to the shop totaling more than 45 days I had to get rid of the ole girl. It was fun, but as we all know the carbon issue will likely get you. The most recent trip the intake manifold was replaced and the cylinder head was chem bathed for cleaning. Apparently it was so clogged the scope camera wasn't able to see inside the engine. Yuk! Well, BMW was awesome with the buy back program under lemon law. I got my down payment, plis almost a years worth of payments back. Awesome! Kudos to the for standing behind the product regardless of what happened. So I picked up an 11' Isf. It's like the D but with half the mpg. Well alright I like it more than the D plus the 8 speed auto shifts crisp and clean even on downshifts with a rev match. Any way so long brethren, long live your D.

Pm me i have jbd can tool and "catch it" floor mats, black. I'll let all three for 200$ on a local p/u. I'm in San Diego.

I came oh so close to buying an ISF, they are awesome daily drivers and fun cars. You must consider this exhaust for your ISF:

IS-F was on my list as well, but it both didnt fall into the price range I wanted (for the mileage) and didnt come close to the MPG I required. Didnt help that the rear bumper is brutally hideous. No doubt it would be a more fun drive than the D, heard a lot of good things about that transmission and its certainly built to be more of a weekend race car than the D is. It was compared to the RS-4 when it first came out (though isnt quite the same level of car) and I sure dont see anyone comparing the D to the RS-4

Good hunting with the IS-F. Sorry about the mpg's but I guess you can't have everything as we see with our 335d's.

+1 you've owned this thing for at least 3 days now and I still don't know if you went with the alcantara or leather interior...or what color the carbon fiber is in the engine bay/interior!

I love the white interior on the isF. Blue/white is my favorite, but I'd bet that black/white combo looks fantastic.

I am jealous of only one thing, though: VENTILATED SEATS! That was the only major detractor when scoring the d against more luxurious rides (even against the Hyundai genesis) but in the end I opted for efficiency.

Congrats on the new ride! I hope it treats you well (I see no reason why it wouldn't)!

The ISF is a very nice car. For most situations, and drivers, it drives as well as any 3er will. I can see why you would you or anyone else would choose one over a BMW, particularly as most folks will never reach the limits at which a BMW surpasses the ISF in terms of capability and performance.

I'm glad the "lemon" thing worked out to your satisfaction. I'm sure it could only have been very disheartening to have bought a BMW and endured the trials and tribulations you must surely have had to. I'm happy for you.

Enjoy and all the best.

IS-F is more on par with the M3 than a 335

Well, yes, I agree...but an M3 is still a BMW.

When I wrote that, I thought, "Now will I need to say 'M3,' or will they realize that an M3 is a BMW and that must be the one I mean?" I guess I know the answer now....

No problem...

I misinterpreted, thought the comparison would be for the cars in question. In that case, an LF-A is much better than an M anything
