OpenFlash Tablet Video Tutorial #3: Datalogging and In-Dash Boost Gauge
Some of you guys are already up to speed. But for those who aren't, here is very basic intro. Sorry for the background noise. My dog decided she wanted to murder her chew toy.
This video has been added to the Video Tutorial Library on our website. PS: If you don't see the selection for "Enable In-Dash Boost Gauge" in your diagnosis menu, you will need to upgrade your Template file. It can be downloaded HERE. This template file updates the menu items on your OpenFlash Tablet. This one gives you in-dash boost guage and datalogging functionality. To upgrade to this template file, just connect your Tablet to your computer and launch OpenFlash Manager v1.02. Then go to the "Upgrade" section, select this file and click on "Start". This process takes 30 seconds or so. PSS: The in-dash boost gauge display currently only works with CAN-equipped 2008+ cars. In-dash boost gauge support for early 2007 cars (with K-line) is under development. Last edited by OpenFlash; 08-12-2013 at 12:58 PM.. |

Currently "In-Dash Boost Gauges" are being developed for the 2007 K Line cars. Be patient man, this Tablet is awesome. If you prefer "gauges" over maps then go with another tune... They're working on it, this is a brand new product...

The OFT is still in its early stages of development. So new features will be coming pretty quickly over the next few weeks. We hope to have a solution for the 2006 production K-Line cars with respect to the in-dash boost gauge soon. I think I have a solution already but it would involve running two wires through the firewall and into your OBD2 connector. Not a big deal for some people but a software-only solution is our first choice.

For those of us that leave the tablet plugged in all the time, is there an option to default to the real time display with the in-dash boost gauge turned on? It's a pain turning it on every time.

Not yet. But it will probably incorporate some sort of macro that will allow you to enter your desired menu with just one touch. I agree that having to press ok several times is unnecessary.

What's going on with shipping tablets? Are you out of stock? Ordered 8 days ago, asks for update at the sales email. Just wondering. Excited to get it.

Hi guys,
We should be getting more stock from Rombimhood any day now. We sold out of stock quicker than expected unfortunately/fortunately. Good news is now they come reconfigured so we don't need to spend a couple of days programming them prior to shipping. They can ship out right away. |

Can't wait! Just sold my JB4 so I am looking forward to exploring the differences. Couple questions:
1. Can the boost gauge be hijacked onto the oil temp gauge? (sorry if the video shows it does; I can't view it at work) 2. Can you do the canflap aka golf tee mod through the tablet? 3. Does this wait to kick in until oil temp hits 160-170 degrees? If so, can that be changed or removed altogether? Thanks! |

Looking good shiv Even though I don't have a 335 this is something I am looking forward to for the N52. Best part is that if I upgrade to a 335 I won't have to get a new device . Just a question though. Does this only support BMW with the N54 (soon to be N52) engine or does it support other cars. I noticed you had a Porsche file on your desktop but it could be something unrelated.
