Odd DS behavior

So the other day in utter annoyance of a Malibu driving 20mph and breaking on a curving on-ramp to the freeway, (typical insane freeway merging technique around here) I dropped it into DS mode and plowed by it. I recently added a Procede and DCI to my car and had DTS engaged. The car responded quickly as expected but held 5500-6000rpm, un-shifting, the whole way down the sweeping on-ramp. Once it straightened out and I accelerated it quickly shifted. However I found it odd that it would hold such a high rpm in a fast turn. I suppose I should of just switched to manual mode but didn't think of it at the moment.

Is this the normal, sometimes random, shifting patterns of the DS logic or something else? Should I use the Procede to reset the adaptive transmission? I did not reset it after adding the latest performance mods. Thanks.

BMW's programming is very good in that aspect. Shifting in the middle of a turn can lead to some hairy situations although the automatic kind of smooths that power transition over.

Great transmission IMO.

Haha Thx Shiv! I thought it might be...but my wife was thrown off . Thanks again for all your help and great meeting you a few weeks back. I posted a review the other day a ways down the page. Look forward to many more performance upgrades with your team.

Good to know...and very true thought about shifting mid turn becoming hairy...didn't think about that.
