335d SCR / EGR/ SES issues please send me links and/or problems you have....

Hello,

Recently I purchased a 335d (Oct 2012) and now just getting the SES lights at 55K. Thankfully mine was basic but I am still asking BMW to reimburse since warranty just expired and we seem to have similar issues. Perhaps more recalls need to be issued? Due to all the similar problems we are having I am having my attorney send in my receipts and will document all cases to prove all of our continued problems. Do you mind sending me descriptions and perhaps proof (receipts and/or work orders from dealer) so I can forward on.

Thank you,

Brice

Brice look into the forums, BMW is aware but will NOT admit to the issue pertaining the 335d, the X5d does not have the same issue we have that i know off.

Yes they are aware but how many have really pushed the issue? If we get more documented cases this will play in our favor. The D is a good car and I do not personally want to get rid of it.

Thank you,

Brice

2010 - I had the dealer diagnose yesterday. It was codes p2063, p2064 & P20ee which equates to other codes for BMW which I do not have. But I will have it all documents with BMW codes once I send this all in. The attorney said he will draft a letter based on our experiences and problems and will submit proof. He even said it may not do much but it is worth a shot to see how they respond.

Sounds like DDE to me have them verify the DDE it might be bad or need an update. I do beleive if we have everyone that has had issue they can be a campaign recall but i suggest you check other forums like bimer fest also

I agree but I am curious if everyone will send me what they have? I don't care if it is whited out to protect privacy. I am going to pull all reports from these forums and whatever comes back from Google as well.

I think the OBD P2063 and P2064 are related to injector #2. I have read previously on my car the codes OBD P codes and the equivalent BMW codes. I will be able to check that but it will be in 1 1/2 week, I am traveling now and this info is in a folder at home.

montr usually when you get this the DDE is bad and ends up as a combination of both defective parts and eventually other injectors as well!!

Hey. if it is injectors, it doesnt matter if it is past the 50k warranty mileage.
It is covered under the 7/70 - 7 year 70k miles emissions warranty.

BMW should be covering it free of cost.

Garage List
Didn't someone collect vins on carbon issues a while ago? SCR and EGR campaigns are known issues which should be covered by a BMW service bulletin.

His state doesn't participate in CARB...I believe. Under the Federal 8yr/80k mile rule only catalytic converters, ECU, and OBD are covered.

So instead of asking for a good will repair prior to completion of the work you want us to help your attorney hammer BMWNA after the fact over one out of warranty repair incident?

I'll pass.

I would back him up. Our issues are starting to look scarily similar to HPFP on 335i. They started off with inconsistent treatment of HPFP problems (like they are doin to us) and scored 10/100k warranty

I wouldnt be upset to get a 10 year/120k warranty extension to cover only excessive carbon buildup like the HPFP warranty

Now this is to assist all. If BMW is aware and continued documentation is sent in how is this about me? Of course there is motivation on my behalf but again this helps all the D owners now & in the future.

Why wouldn't people back this up as I am the one incurring the cost for the attorney. And thank you!

The bulletin does not cover all SCR parts. Even the ones that continue go bad is not on the list hence why should get what we can over to BMW Corp. And my scr parts were updated last year and this continues to be a problem and again this is not an isolated event.

And any idea on the guy who collected the VIN's...perhaps a SN?
