replacing shock mounts on 2 y/o car?
I am upgrading my 335xi suspension via KW V1 coilovers. Car is a 2011, not quite in service for 2 years. Too early to replace the strut/shock mounts at the same time? Parts are $300 at Turner, which is more than I expected, but if it needs to be done, so be it.
Any rule of thumb here? |

You CAN but I cannot imagine, for the life of me, that they are even close to being at the end of their serviceable life. I reused mine and I have 87k miles and 7 years on them (that's pushing it I know).

I'd at least change the rear upper shock mounts. They wear out quickly and deflect quite a bit. Look at Powerflex or Dinan rear upper shock mounts for material that is firmer.
