Blackline Taillights....different US & German Part Numbers??

Hey everyone!

Since it seems that there is a National Backorder for our Blackline E90 rear lights, I ordered them from an authorised BMW dealer outside of Berlin.

Seems like the US Part # is: 632 104 066 78

German part #: 799 299 8669

Anyone know if there is supposed to be different Part #s for US and German Parts? I was under the assumption the all part #s were issued in Germany, and were the same.

Hope these lights fit my 06 330i. They were shipped on Monday, and have a 12-14 day expected arrival.

I ordered mine on ebay from a seller in Germany that gets them directly from BMW in Germany. Here's a pic.

The german taillight should fit perfectly. I think the european and american taillight have different part numbers because of the turn signal. The european flashs orange the american on the other hand flashs red. The european taillight has some sort of orange plastic cap inside the turn signal - it's not only the bulb that is orange.
I'm not sure whether you can remove the orange cap so that the turn signal will flash red

I guess it was a rumor in E90POST.

few members pointed out the reason its on national backorder is because it is illegal in the states, something about not meeting the DOT standards in the states.

but if you say its not, then I guess its not.

It is DOT approved. There is a DOT stamp on the blacklines.

Thanks for all the responses. I am sure I did not order the amber blinkers. I spoke mit dem Verkäufer at the BMW dealership in Germany, and he also sent me 2 pictures showing I ordered the Blackline Heckleuchten. Why the part # is different, is still a mystery...as is why the Blacklines are on National hold.

Fingers crossed that in 2 weeks, I will be blacklining it, and signaling orange...as my BMW was designed to do. Damn....I found out that it was BMWNA that made the switch to red blinkers. They thought it looked better. All BMWs in Europe blink orange. Funny, our Z8 Alpina has Neon brake lights and turn signals...and they are red, where as Z8s in Europe have the orange rear neon tubing. BMWNA has to fricking get over their imposing ideas of red blinkers looking better. It just looks like some grandma's Buick Park Avenue

Wonder why my part number was slightly different then if all blacklines have the same part number? You did look at my pic right?

I did. Thanks for posting it...appreciate it! So now, the people who have ordered and received US Blackline lights have different part number than yours, and I was given an even different German part #. Odd. Maybe there has been some modifications, and now the current part # is different than the first batch of Blacklines. Really don't know!

The number in your pic is just for that particular light

The number we give is for the kit, that includes both sides and both reverse lights

As i heard from DTM Passion (the place I ordered my Euro tails in German); they told me the supplier damaged the mold/tool, and they have no idea how soon blackline will be back to the market.
