What are the servicing intervals?

Trying to work out what my cars going to need. Not really wanting to trust the OBC indicators.

For example my Air and Fuel filters were done 50k ago, on my last car I was doing oil, plugs and filters every 10k.

Cars an M47N2 320D, any info on how often things should be done would be great and I can work out what needs doing and when. Oil will be done every year (roughly 15k)

Miller is a writer/tech advisor for the US BMW Car Club. He doesn't know much about diesels, so ignore that advise.

Our fuel filters on M57s here in the States get changed every 2-3 oil changes. Oil changes are 13K (BMW LL04 oil); some people are changing at 7500 mile or 10K mile intervals. Air filters are going 25K (two oil changes). Brake fluid flush every 2 years. Auto transmission 60K (BMW says 100K). Diff and manual tranny every 30K works for me.

Might post in the N47/M57/N57 diesel forums - there are a few EU people there.

Okay cheers for your advice. I'm gonna get the filters done and glowplugs as they're 165k old I think. From there on probably do filters every other oil change, brake fluid 2 years and brakes when they need it. I didn't think the transmission/diff fluid was a serviceable item? But I'll probably get that done at some point too depending on costs.

I'll ask in the UK area as I forgot the 320D is more of an EU model.

Yeah, there seem to be quite a few posters in the UK forum.

Don't know which auto tranny you have - is it a ZF 6HPxx? The 335d/x5d here use the 6HP26, while the 328i/335i use the 6HP19 (less torque). The fluid is definitely serviceable (arguments about drain-and-fill versus flush. Flush needed to get it all out of the torque converter.)

If it were mine, I'd change it every 30K. It's cheap, and it will shift more smoothly IME.
