Bilstein B14 on 130i
Hi, I am considering Bilstien B14 coil overs, for my 130i
Does anyone have any feedback or comments. I run the PSS9's on my E36 and think they give a better ride than the standard M sports suspension on the 130i. The standard M sport suspension is a weak point in the cars handling. Changing to non run flats made an improvement but i am still not really happy. Thanks Cameron |

Do it. I bought mine from NH-Tuning.de
They feel surprisingly more compliant and smoother than the m-sport crap. Better control of the body. Ride height is perhaps 10mm lower in the front, on max height. I would def. do M3 arms front/rear and whiteline subframe inserts($100, do it!) asap. As you would know, they are the same kit as PSS9 but without the dodgey adjusters. PSS10 have the revised adjusters, although I couldn't justify the additional expense on a street car. A few of us on here run them: http://facebook.com/groups/130iOwners/ |

Hi Ryan Thanks for your feedback. Approximately how much did it cost you to purchase & ship the suspension.
Sounds like you are happy with the difference the kit made, I also feel that adjustable dampers are not necessary for street use I have had the PSS9 on my E36 for several years and have only ever adjusted them for track use. Has the kit improved the way the car behaves when you go through a compression? Thanks Again Cameron |

~$1350 depending on the AUD/EU Compression stroke isn't as crashy, no longer bottom out. Rebound has settled nicely Far more confidence in the car. over all, pretty close to being critically dampened, off the shelf, 1series/3series kit. |

Hi Ryan,
Thanks, so has the improvement is noticeable! Has it removed the feeling of the car bucking and trying to throw you off the road? If that is the case!, sounds like I should get on with it! Cheers Cameron |

Also look at M3 front/rear arms. the kits can be purchased as OEM TRW brand from ECS for peanuts. This is what I have done so far. The other mod I would look at (which i should have done) would be M3 rear LCA and use 1m/m3 B14 PSS to take some movement out of the shock mounts. |

No, I would not want to compete against you and Anthony, as the older I get the faster I was! but hopefully the E36 will be back on track and I will be doing some track days with it and have some fun with you guys. I would have liked to upgrade the 130 to a F20 M135 but funds are limited at this time, so I am thinking of making some improvements to the E87 as a street car and keeping it for a bit longer, I have always felt the factory suspension was a weak point with the car and changing it would really improve the car as a daily drive. It would appear from the comments here that it would be a worth while exercise. Take care and enjoy life Cameron |
