Brake cooling project...
In progress... just a couple pics for now...
I'm going to cut a hole out of the back of the stock duct to run 2.5" SCAT hose. Next step is riveting some 2.5" flanges to the backing plates. Then I run the hoses. Last edited by ashmostro; 09-21-2013 at 02:46 PM.. |

Cool (pun intended). Are you going to hijack the front OEM brake ducts?

How will it work on the side with the oil cooler? I seen this down the 1m using the bottom air ducts on the lip or something like that.

On my car, both sides have a cooler. The bigger issue turned out to be the FMIC support. I will need to run the hoses inside the ducts for a bit and then cut he ducts short and do some sharp bends with the hose. Ran out of time over the weekend since I needed to service some suspension issues but will hopefully get to after my track day next weekend.

It's the front. The other end is going to be cut short and the tubing either run through it, or cut out to exit early - that's the biggest challenge right now and I haven't had the time to get back to it in the last couple of weekends and my wife and I are looking at homes.
The plug allows one to cover up the duct for the street so you don't have over-cooling. I will just take off the plug at the track and be able to run the ducting permanently. Convenient. |
