Will M4 have a gas guzzler tax?

I am wondering if with the claimed M4 mpg improvement of 25% over current M3 model which results in roughly 18/25 city highway if the gas guzzler tax will no longer apply! Would be great to spend the money instead in some actual options. Thoughts?

My personal question is F80 or F82?
I kinda prefer the F80 since i already have an F10
And Estoril Blue 2 or Yas Marina Blue?
You should have the f82 since you have a four door. I have the e90 but want the f82 this time around.

Stay away from eb2. Thats for the non m cars

According to Govt standards cars must have at least a 22.9 minimum MPG to avoid the Gas Guzzler tax. I fully expect this to be the case with the M4. However funny thing I was just a looking at a sticker for Shelby mustang with mpg well under that and no Tax? What gives? :

Garage List
Here's info from the source:

http://www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/guzzler/

The document that lists vehicles subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax by model year has not yet been published for MY 2014. Note that for model year 2013 every M model produced in 2013 was listed, along with the 550i and 760Li.

Hopefully, the M3/M4 overall fuel economy will be good enough that they will not be subject to the tax. It would be a lot better to be able to spend the money on options.

Can confirm for certain - no gas guzzler tax on F80.

a

P.S.: Your state may have a luxury tax that I couldn't avoid in NJ.
