2 types of CIC screen?
Hi guys
Im about to retrofit CIC in my 06 E91. But a friend of mine told me that the screen I got is the old one with a bend plastic screen in front of the actual screen. The new one should not have this bend plastic screen. Anyone know if theres any visual difference? Br Allan

There is a difference between the screens, the CCC is a lower resolution screen which won't work with the CIC. Could be wrong and there's another variant, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. |

If I was given the chance, I'd go for the one with plastic cover as it protects your screen better. Screen without cover is so easy to scratch.

I have retrofitted from my CCC screen the housing with the plastic lens over to my new CIC screen. There are some minor modifications needed to fit the CIC housing back onto the CCC unit. As for using the CCC with plastic lens to fit onto the CIC screen there is no modifications whatsover.
I love the way it turned out with having a plastic protective cover over my CIC screen. IMO BMW left it out to save money because there is no reason why it should be from factory in first place. WIth the plastic lens there is absolutely no glare whatsover.. My CCC screen although its has no plastic cover it still looks OEM! |
