Detailer's Domain: BMW M3 Competition Package - Alpine White

This beautiful BMW M3 e92 Competition Package car came to us for the full works on the exterior prior to leaving the NY/NJ for a new life in the southwestern part of the country.
The best part is the car came to us cleaned up so there isn't much for us to show in the prep except for the quick wash and decon. We tested out the Sonax Fallout Remover for the decon step, a new product we hope to have in 2014. Since the car spent all of its life in the tristate we expected the usual: fallout, rail dust, and various contaminants.

We also used the Sonax Multi Star on this car, on the motor, bug and tar, as well as cleaning up the tires.

i love the detail and wash on this M3, I have a white 535 f10 that i would love to detail with some of your products. Could you please tell me what you guys are using to buff the car right after it says "action shot." I need something to take out some small swirl marks, and to make the car super shiny

Cannot beat FG400, one of my favorite polishes. And for those who wonder, Alpine White paint is quite hard.

Shadow line restoration

Hi Phil,

My shadow line is starting to look the same way. I was wondering what specifically you used on the trim work. Some of those pieces are plastic so is it safe to try to correct them the same way? Any help is appreciated. thanks!

on the b pillars you can polish them out on the areas around the pillars try to do them by hand if the machine catches the edge of it, it will burn the shadow line trim.

b pillars will be fine to machine polish just make sure you mask the rubber seals so it does not become a mess.

we have started to clear film the b pillars on sedans now to avoid all the polishing to fix them.
