Help - Curbed my M Roadster Wheel
A wheel-eating curb got my right front wheel. Style #224 for the M-Roadster. Any have a spare? Or recommend a place to get one.
I took it to a repair shop but said they didn't recommend fixing it. It's not bent but the scratch chipped off the flaky coating applied to the rim. The repair would not match the color on the other wheels. Thanks for your help. |

If you want a new one, check the classifieds, or post a request there. Plenty of people have upgraded stock wheels.

Ouch, that's sucks! Any pictures? Depending on the severity, I'm sure that the rash could easily be repaired and painted to closely match the factory finish.
I found a little article on how to repair minor curb rash on your own: http://www.autopia-carcare.com/realwhda.html

I've got some minor rash on my front passenger side (another casualty of my first week with the car)...but since I hardly ever go over there...I tend not to notice it

Did you try going to Rite-Way Wheel in Walnut Creek, CA? They do amazing work and have fixed all of my previous wheels to perfect condition.

Thanks "schwank" and "335audioman" I'll give a local wheel guy a try. The one in Walnut Creek work out since I work out that area once a week. Thanks!
These wheels seem to be a real problem with curb rash not just causing scratches but damage as the lacquer flakes off in pieces. I've been reading on other boards that it's been a pain with the Z4M: http://www.zed-cars.eu/discussion/Topic11918-15-1.aspx |

Yeah, I have noticed the rims are pretty brittle. Then again the paint is really brittle as well, coming from a lead based painted car anyway.

I had 2 the first week...hadn't had another one since last week (11 months later...) when I hit a piece of shrapnel that came out of no where and hit me on the highway.
