With lowering springs I'd be more worried about the struts/dampers.

Even with a mild set-up like the Sport H&R's (as opposed to the Super Sport)? I was toying with going with the Sports as I've heard nothing but glowing reviews. But....if my struts and dampers will have a shortened life and my ride will turn rock hard, I guess I'll stay stock.

Sigh. I see replies from people with out the item in question installed on their cars making blanket statements. Great.

Maybe just go out from this thread and go to the suspension section which has specific reviews of these springs on our cars.

I have had 10 sets of springs on all kinds of cars over the last 20 years. I had 90% good experiences and only had 1 bad one when excessively aggressive springs called STRUT KILLERS led to the death of my Konis in part due to Detroit roads.

Not sure if directed at me, but the OP asked "how long do the springs last" to which I said - "don't worry about the springs, it's the shocks that will go first." This doesn't specify if it's 20k miles or 80k miles, but the springs should outlast the struts. For the record, I have H&R OE springs on my car. Whether I'm happy about them or wish I did different is a whole other debate.

I have BC Racing I am very happy with them also have a look at the H&r as they are also very good coilovers and very reasonable. I have had KW before honestly they aren't 3 times better given they are 3 times the cost.

Was not directed at you.

Aggressive springs are more likely to drastically shorten the life of struts. I would not combine the non sport struts with Super Sports for example. But the sport struts plus the modest nature of the Sport lowering springs-go very well together and would not cause this amount of concern as to the longevity of the stock components. Will it have no impact? Who can say...if your stockers last 90k depending on your driving scenario and shorten the life by 10% with the H&Rs, that is a fine trade off for many. If it kills them 60-70% faster-now that may be unacceptable for most.
