2009 Chevy Camaro concept..
And they all said... "amen". I don't care if I get knocked for this, but the Camaro has always been one of my favorite cars, since it's begining to the very last just recently in 02'(I'm pretty sure that was the last year? correct me if I'm wrong?) Nice to see the new one will look like the best Camaro of them all.. the original 66' model.

i like it.... a lot. I love how the american companies (basically just ford and now chevy) are bringing out the old style car within the new body styles. I think it may look to similar to a corvette, but well see.
even if you dont like the new mustangs, have you ever compared the pictures of the old, new, and newest mustangs. The designers did an amazing job with them... talk about the perfect combination of the cars. Go find similar pictures of a 66(around), an 04' and an 05'/06'... youll be amazed at how much of both cars they crammed into the new stang

It looks like a space age Mustang.

It would be smart for GM to emulate the success Ford had had with the new Mustang. When I think American, I think Muscle Car. Enough with the Eurosport badges, the Pontiac BMW Grille posers, and the bland styling (combined with poor quality) that has allowed GM to lose market share.
However, just watch. In true American fashion, that beautiful concept will eventually mutate into what is actually offered the public--a boring "practical" Camaro with only slight resemblance to the original concept. |

The concept camaro looks stunning! I really am impressed on how the designers maintained the classic muscle car look.

I've had 5 Camaros. I had a '68 that was my baby and I sunk a ton of cash into, various ones that I bought new - the last of which was a '92 Z28 when they were first introduced.
If indeed they do release this car (albeit with some changes like making the side mirrors actually practical) it will no doubt be very sucessful. Reminds me a lot of my '68. But it will still be a GM POS I'm sure. There is a reason that my last five cars have been German....

That is, indeed, a damn cool car. Now if they could get the drivetrain, engine and suspension all working together, and a cool interior, they might lift GM out of the trough a little bit!

"W/ GM, the concept to production phase is actually a very well done transition, take a look at the Solstice..."
You're right. That's great; didn't know that about the Solstice. Till now I thought Chrysler Motors was the only one of the big three that dared to produce models that looked like their original concepts. Models like the Scion xB, the Honda Element, etc., demonstrate that several consumers like the not-so-conservative styling that top level management has traditionally put a damper on. |

I have to say, that though this car is retro, it's nowhere near nastalgic as the Mustang.. thank god for that. This is a throughly modern car, unlike the wannabe kit car new Mustang.

For the record, I rented a Dodge Charger V-6 for a week in FLorida for about 1000 miles and I quite liked it. There is a ton of room for the whole family and then some! The stereo was great, the AC, the seats, the backseat room, the trunk space, even the handling for a car of it's size. I think the R/T would be a great car to own.
