Leather Seat Repair

Any of you guys have suggestions regarding what you'd use as far as repairing your leather seats?

I have a the Black Dakota Leather and after only a year, I've noticed that the driver's seat side has begun to fade/wear down due to constant use.

I've looked at a ton of repair kits and DIY regarding this, but I'd also like to know if anyone else here has had any first hand experience with repairing their own, and also their results.

Thanks in advance.

This picture is concerning… Do you wear pants with abrasive rear buttons or razorblades… or let your pet cougar sit on the front seat??

Did you use leather conditioner periodically? A black recolor kit may at least make it less noticeable.

Can you take a picture of your pants? This is very disturbing if you wear anything but pants made of sandpaper.

Have you tried discussing with your dealer? That's excessive wear unless its caused by abuse or cleaning with solvents/abrasives....

If both parents are methane producers, their children have a 95% chance of being producers as well. My best guess is that OP probably has high concentrations of Methanesulfonic acid (methane gas) in his flatulence, hence the spot of the leather color discoloration. The Methanesulfonic acid must have broke down the leather's coloring causing the discoloration in the anal spot area of the seat. Heck methanesulfonic acid can even be used in the generation of borane (BH3). By reacting methanesulfonic acid with NaBH4 in an aprotic solvent such as THF or DMS, the complex of BH3 and the solvent is formed.

BTW: Wherever you got that quote from, it's wrong. 2/3rds of adults don't have methane in their farts. http://bit.ly/1ifgN8o

The Cougar-Be-Gone Formula

I used a mixture of OEM Dakota Leather Black Paint as well as the Paint included from the Furniture Clinic Leather Repair Kit.

And after a whole lotta cleaning, washing, sanding, and hair dryer-ing I feel this is probably as good as I'm going to get it, and personally it really is hard to tell with the naked eye unless you really look at it.

Just thought some would be interested in my results.
