M Performance Suspension...in Eco Pro...Hello
I purchased my car in February and have pushed the Eco Pro button a handful of times. Matter of fact, I posted a thread about why it was not for me. I recently upgraded to the M Performance Suspension ("MPS") and discussed my observations within the "35,656" page MPS thread. What I have not discussed is my opinion on MPS in Eco Pro.
Flash forward to last night. My wife and I drove up to LA for an event, which is approximately 45 miles each way. We absolutely love the MPS and we never feel that it is too harsh. That being said, I had been up for 18 hours and hit a stretch on the 110 that was horrible. The ride was fine, but given my exhaustion, I wanted something a little more "cushy". I pushed the Eco Pro button for the first time since February/March... It became such a different car. My wife, not realizing what I did, made a comment about the road becoming considerably smoother within 30 seconds of being in Eco Pro (but it was not the road). It felt like Comfort Mode without the MPS, but without the body roll. We were quite surprised and talked about for approximately 10 straight miles. This may not be new to those with MPS, but it certainly is to me. Edit: I am still going to drive in Comfort/Sport+ 99.9% of the time. Last edited by OC40; 11-05-2013 at 11:03 AM.. |

Do you have the M Performance springs with the DHP adjustable dampers? If not, are the M Performance suspension dampers adjustable?

That was going to be my question, because without DHP the modes don't change suspension settings, only steering feel and it adjusts throttle sensitivity.

right - even if you have DHP, the m performance suspension negates the ability to change "chassis" modes. it is a fixed system, theres no more "soft vs hard" if you install it.

'88 Grand Marquis is where it's at. That is what my MSport felt like before the MPS.

@OC40, I had noticed the same thing and posted it on that mperf labor hours thread. I figured its in my head. But somehow I can still feel a difference between comfort mode and sport mode.

its probably just transfers itself through the steering, creating that placebo effect ... car just feels looser

Can M-Performance springs be installed with the adaptive dampers? I feel like this would be the perfect setup.

This. It's placebo effect OP, MPS is a track oriented system, there's no way it's adjustable based off of the fuel/gear mapping done with Eco Pro.
