Maybe. I think that there will be another blue but it may be Estoril instead. Or they could go with Monte Carlo or something else too. Also, it is possible that they may wait until the second model year (or later) to add another blue and other colors.

Of course, through Individual it should be possible to get just about any color you want. But that's expensive obviously and I gather you were referring to the standard color selections.

I meant to say as an individual color. I am debating btw silver stone, grey, or San Marino. I guess it will depend on the cost of the paint. If its btw 1K to 2K, i will go for it, but if its more I will skip and choose stranded color.

From what I've read here, ordering an individual paint will cost you $5500. How much do like that color is the question because you'll never be able to factor that cost into resale value.

I'm confuse from reading various information regarding BMW's individual paint pricing ranging from 2k (usd) to 5K to 10k (pure silver metallic)or more(specific custom paint).

My question pertains specifically to one about individual paint that currently exist in the BMW existing color palette but not available as the standard (metallic) option. Just a scenario lets say I want to order the 435i in San Marino blue, how much would that cost? Can someone who is very knowledgeable about this, shed clear insights to this. Thanks!

Agree with you on the resale value. I was over at my local BMW, and the sales rep told me that white color sales faster than any other color, and they make profit on pre-owned white the most.

There are three types of individual paint. There is the first teir of individual, typically these cost around 2K, and they are 4 or 5 colors pre-set by BMW. If you go to BMWUSA.com and try to build a 7 series you can see colors like Citron Black or Tanizinte Blue. These are more rare and typically have multi-colored flake in them. These are just an option code, and while they have a slight delay (usually a few weeks), are easy to order.

Then there is special order individual paint. This can be any color you want. You can give them a paint code from an older paint or paint from another vehicle (such as saying you want a Dakar Yellow 320i), or something less specific (I want an electric green, like that AH3 in Hawaii a few weeks back). These cost around 5K (more on a bigger car). The info is submitted to BMW, it can take a month to hear back (usually less), then it can add a month or so to the process. This is unavailable on some cars (currently none of the ones built in the US can get this).

Finally there is paint finishes, you can order paint w/o metallic flake, frost, etc. in just about any color. This can be substantial in price (I had a client try to order a flat olive green on a Z4 and BMW quoted us at 15K). This can add a large amount time to an order as well.

In that case, as another poster pointed out above, it is going to set you back considerably more than your target price. That is, of course, unless it ends up being a standard color.
