New to NC
Hey folks I just moved down to NC from MA and was wondering what the local car scene is like. Any meets or cruises?

Welcome to NC! There are several of us in the Raleigh area, but overall the scene is pretty quiet. Check out one of the Cars & Coffee events. In Raleigh, it's the first Saturday of the month. There is one in Wilmington, too. Not so sure about the Fayetteville area.

I'll definitely check out Cars & Coffee. Are there any cruises to the Tail of the Dragon or any other mountain runs?

I'd be down to go in spring even though I don't have a BMW anymore

If the driver is competent and the car is capable I'll cruise the Dragon with anyone. Marcus you and I have the same car history. I had an 03 350Z Track Edition, such a fun car!

Feedback from local enthusiasts suggest the best group to go with is minis on the dragon as opposed to the miata guys. Not sure if there is a BMW one. CCA seems to have a few meets a year, but I'm not a member sooooo.
There should be lots of car events in Fayetteville I would think. There is also a Cary Sonic Friday night thing, but I understand that draws the ire of the police from time to time. Also the Grille 57 meets, which are fun if you like classic muscle and rat rods. I've been a few times with the Evo guys, and imports are tolerated. Sorry to be the one to tell you, but this isn't BRASIL!

I'll check out the local venues. Does the Sonic meet draw one wheel burning out ricers or is it more of a park and meet? I've got some friends in Atlanta that run the Dragon with a collection of STis, Evos, and some misc cars. I'll let y'all know if they are planning a run.
