No voltage to water pump HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

I have a 2007 bmw 328xi coupe temp light came con car went into limp mode. Got it to my buddys shop. from what I have read it is the water pump. So as we checking voltage pin #3 is only giving out 3 volts . Any idea what is going on

What are the codes. My pump just failed and I replaced it. All is good for now.
How many miles?

Are you checking with ignition on? Should have following voltages:

Pin 1: 12V
Pin 2: 11V with accelerator depressed
Pin 3: 7V with ignition on
Pin 4: Ground

Thanks for the info ... It was the water pump end up costing me $805 dollars ...

could've got the pump and thermostat on ebay for like $650 shipped

Doesn't sound like that good of a deal to me. I bought t-stat and pump for $350 off e-bay and replaced myself.
