Extended Warranty Options - New 335i
Does anyone have any thoughts on BMW extended warranty options on a new 335. I'm wondering if extending from the factory 48/80 is worth the added cost or if there any other must have extras.
Will probably keep the car at least 6 years and don't anticipate racking up a ton of miles. Bumping the warranty to 72/120 might give some piece of mind but price seems high. Does anyone have thoughts on the value of the extended warranty, how much room for negotiation there is or must have add ons. |

Don't knw the price u were offered but if ur keeping the car and u can get parts covered as well.. Extend the warranty! If ur not gonna rack up the miles fast then maintain it itself..in my opinion!

Well it clearly helps to sell it after if the car is still under warranty. The BMW extended warranty covers most everything. I just sold my mini clubman and the warranty was clearly a factor. But then again I didn't pay for the warranty, car was a dealer demo and the warranty was included.

Benefits of waiting?
I've read a few threads that suggest there are a few advantages to wait and buy the warranty later; before the factory warranty expires.
1. If you write off the car in an accident or theft, the additional warranty isn't transferable. 2. By adding the warranty later, you have the benefit of knowing if the car has had a lot of issues under the factory warranty. It seems a key factor would be whether you can negotiate a decent discount at time of delivery. Does anyone know if the warranty is cheaper if bought when the car is new? |

Same price, the only advantage of getting it at delivery is you can finance the amount and garantee the cost and availability/modifications of extended warranty.
