Want to change fluids at 1/2 intervals - can't find schedule
Hi all,
I had an oil change at 7,500 miles because I didn't trust BMW's ~15k interval. I plan on changing all fluids at 1/2 of BMW's schedule. Now I read that they've changed the oil change interval to every 10k (but ONLY for models built after June 2013. Huh?? They have the same engine I do. What, my engine is OK every 15k but new models aren't?... but that's another thread...) This just confirms my feeling that their schedule is more about marketing a car that's had a reputation as being a high maintenance vehicle as a low maintenance vehicle. I plan to treat it like the high maintence car that it is because I hope to have it beyond 100,000 miles (I put on 20k a year). Does anyone know where I can find a maintenance shedule? I know the car monitors itself and lets you know what it needs, but there's got to be a rough guideline out there somewhere.? I've scoured the web, and I've seen the Mike Miller old school schedule. I'm looking for a current, real schedule from BMW. Does one exist? |

Check your manuals - - the slim one that contains warranty info also has the maintenance schedule for your car.

OK, I see it now -- it's in paragraph form. I was looking for a table or chart, since every maintenance schedule I've ever seen has had that layout.
There's not much to it -- outside of oil changes, basically just Brake Fluid every 2 years and spark plugs at 60,000. Thanks m6! Last edited by c.cash; 11-13-2013 at 01:22 PM.. |
