Post break-in oil change

Anybody in the area have any luck getting a post break-in oil change covered under the maintenance program? Just curious as I am just about there.

I know I can do it myself, but why bother if I can have the dealership do it, you know?

Thanks!

since everyone is talking about our wonderful weekend, I doubt you'll get many responses JK

i had 15k miles and they wouldn't do mine, so I just did it myself. don't reset the service interval so that when you do get to the magic number, the dealer will pick up the cost.

Good point...never mind my question. Looks like everyone's in recovery mode for the week.

I'll do the oil change myself. Hopefully I'll make it out to one of the local meets soon!!

Thanks anyway...

Just a thought: You probably already knew this, but I didn't. After talking to the Passport Shop guy, he said when you change the oil before the car "tells" you to, the sensors get confused, and re-set the next interval for the next change (presumably for a longer time interval). Probably means nothing but I thought I'd pass it on.

my sensors did not reset anything...I did a change at 1,250 miles and another at 5,000...just do it yourself...worth it to keep the car clean on the inside.

Yes, that's what I thought. Just do the oil change regardless of when the car wants you to.

How would the sensors know this? It makes no sense to me. When you drain the oil the car is off and the you just refill it. Then turn the car on. Anyway, my sensors and any other reading are still on schedule for my next free oil change, like Scott, nothing changed for me.

That's what I also thought. He said that when you put in newer, cleaner oil, the car "Senses" this, isn't sure where it came from but re-adjusts the next interval accordingly. My question: Who cares... With all that said, I have decided NOT to change the oil until the car tells me to or 1/yr, whichever comes first. I am a rebel.

I find my Passport CA Tony very good I 'll take them over Arlington service or maybe even Fairfax.

I wish I can express the same with their goodie bag this year, thats why maybe paul is quite upset since he loaded up his car with those
