M235i has 2 front bumper design?

So... I was thinking of X1 for next car... but then!! i see 2er with MT!!!
Little less trunk space can compensate for MT and driving fun.

While I have been looking pics I notice some difference.
Some of them has sliver slate on side vents and some doesnt...
Whats up with that?

not so sure how to quote.. but got pictures from 2 different post on this forum...

if that is another option.... what do you prefer?

I picked this up a while a go too. I prefer second. In another thread apparently the second one is US spec. Definitely will need a sponsor to get the part numbers together pronto.

Probabaly euro vs US? I don't know but I personally prefer them without the gray inserts.

However, if that's how they come to the US I don't mind. I wonder how carbon fiber inserts would look

You know, I hadn't noticed that, but I was noticing that I liked the front in some pictures more than others. I was thinking it was just because of the color, but now I realize it's because of the inserts! I *definitely* prefer the inserts. I'm hoping they make it an option or an aftermarket part in the US.

It looks like this is due to the Hot Climate Version being part of the spec for the US cars.

When you change the model code from 1J71 to 1J73 (US spec) on the configurator you can see the lower grille changes - the silver slats disappear and additional openings are visible. (Because of the openings it might not be possible to simply retrofit the slats depending on how those are attached.)

A similar thing happened with the F30s in the US - the Sport Line bumpers have an additional cutout in that area and the M-Sport cars don't have fog lights.

Where did you do that in the configurator?

3 Designs? Notice some the press shots have no holes with the gray insert, just solid pieces on the lower intakes, while others have holes with the gray insert.

Good catch. Based on the pictures originally posted in this thread, I'd guess with inserts and a solid piece without holes will to Euro, and without the insert and with holes will go to US for the warm climate version. It probably all boils down to some inconsistent Photoshopping on their part. Will just have to wait and see what they deliver where.

For my part, I'd go for the insert with the holes, if they even make them that way, though it looks like they won't make it to the US that way.
