Question TPMS for 2009 LCI 335i

currently have factory sport rims for my 2009 335i LCI. I purchased some sport rims from a 2011 328i sport which had TPMS for their car ... would those be compatible with my 2009 LCI?

I ask, because I had them swapped in already, and they seem to be malfunctioning still, or says my idrive.... I do the reset, drive a bit, and it comes back malfunctioning.

Do I need caps on the stems? I didn't put any caps on the stems....if they need one, LOL.

The sensors from the 2011 are not compatible with your 2009 that is why you cannot reset your TPMS system. You will need to swap them out for the correct ones.

I guess I am confused what is actually compatible with my 2009 LCI 335i ... I would have thought 2009-2011 would have been compatible.

I believe the change was made for the 2010 model year. So you need '07~'09 sensors ('06 models used indirect TPM).

hmmmmmm, I am 90% sure that 09 LCI need 09 + and can't use 'pre LCI' which is 07-09.

but that is why I thought 09 - 2012 was good ...

I know, that is why I assumed 2011 3 series would work for my 2009 3 series LCI ... I was hoping someone could confirm/deny that.

As I have done a few resets and it still says TPM malfunction.

i don't think the 2009 model was a LCI, it was a pre-LCI.

ooooooooooooook. I have a 12/08 build date. I was confusing myself with the requirements for the new maps CIC/CCC stuff and the LCI/PRELCI stuff...so I have a PRELCI since that is before 2009/09

thanks for setting me straight guys!

you need the older type of BERU TPMS RDE008, this is for all BMW E9X 09/2009 build date and before.

so now I am a litlte confused, there are no PRE LCI on real oem with my date .. but there are E90 LCI with my date ... why's that? Or is that not related, as the TPMS only changed for 09/2009 and after? and LCI has nothing to do with it?

2010-2011 model cars use different TPMS sensors than the 2007-2009 cars.

bumping an old thread. Need some help. I have an 09 LCI 335i. From what i understand is that the TPMS changed after 09/2009. I have a 06/2009 Build date.

Can any clarify which TPMS will be compatible.
Part number 36236798726 and what else.

You need RDE008. Those are the sensors for the pre 2009/09.

That is what I thought, just counterintuitive and confusing. Thanks for the clarification.
