squeaky blue m-sport brakes

i read some posts about squeaky blue msport brakes, and now i have my very own. after 3000km's it is squeaking and is very annoying. I'm taking my car into the dealer next week, but wanted to hear form other people with the same problem about what fix did the dealer offer. I'm really hoping this can be resolved as it is unacceptable for a new car to sound this bad. its taking away from the MPE, and we can't have that

2014 blue brakes, squeaky since day one. I have so many other issues to fix with this car first that I wasn't overly worried. I'll complain when they they get worn so I can get new pads for free.

You forgot to mention that a car that costs this much shouldn't have squeaky brakes. I think you should write a letter to BMW AG.

if the dealer can fix them on monday i won't need to complain. if the issue does not get resolved, then i will for sure. agree that a car of this price should not have this issue, but from reading this forum i kind of knew it was a possibility. anyone here that had this issue resolved successfuly?

I was actually being sarcastic. This was discussed ad nausea in the past.

It goes away with time. It's a side effect of having an aggressive compound but not actually driving in a manner that necessitates it. The squeal is actually a harmonic resonance. They can clean/lube the pads, but it's more a function of the glazing on the rotors. If you do a couple of good stops (Google bedding brakes) that often clears it up.

Right on with this. Anytime you get some squeal go for a nice bedding in run after hours and you should be good for awhile. If you don't get the pads hot enough regularly you will get irregular pad deposit on the rotors and get squeal or shudder.

it's totally normal. my M Sport are the same, it's not constant. basically the more aggressive the pad material the louder and the more brake dust. You can quiet them down by installing inferior pads.

My M Sport brakes are incredibly loud. For all the aggressive pad and rotor combinations I've had in my day, they are taking the longest to quiet down.

The squeaky brakes are a feature. It's not so everyone points and laughs. No, it's so they know you're driving an M Sport and can show you the proper respect.

I'm 6k miles in and they still squeak. I'll try abusing them for a few minutes and see if it makes them stop. (no pun intented)

My M Sport brakes only squeak occasionally, usually when at parking speed. Otherwise, it is quiet when used on the road or at the track.
