Way too much bounce and wobble at 65-90mph
Hey guys, I got a 335i msport with 19 inch wheels with the stock run flat potenzas. Currently have 520 miles on the car, and this thing bounces and wobbles all over the freeway. How is this suppose to be safe? I used to own a VW r32 and that thing was planted to the floor at any speed. Everytime I hit a bump in the f30 i feel like im going to crash. Is it just the way the car is or is it the run flats and stock suspension?
Also, i do not have DHP Thank you

It's the run flats. I had 18" in run flats and when I went to a aftermarket 19" rim and Hankook tires, I noticed a crazy difference, has been running much smoother since I took the run flats off.

I don't have run flats anymore, and I still have the wobble and bounciness. I have DHP by the way. I honestly don't know what's the problem with the suspension. Sounds like it has to be the springs since both our cars have different dampers and that doesn't seem to be make a difference

Its honestly really bad, I dont understand how BMW can release a car that is so unstable at those highway speeds when these cars can possibly be put on the german autobahn at even higher speeds. I think the only fix is to lower the car.

I have the non run flat Hankook tires (245 up front) and H&R sport springs which all made the car more stable, BUT, it does still feel a little bouncy on bumps. However, it does not wobble...even at high speed on a track (smooth road). I think the only way to completely eliminate the bounce would be to change the dampers, which I would have done if I planned on keeping the car (It's a lease)

Not even on my current 18" nordic studded winter tires is it nor bouncy or wobbly. Much more solid and stable than my old E90 Msport on 19". Talk to your dealer guys

Interesting, I wonder if there was like a bad batch of cars made. Has anyone tried taking their car to the dealers to see if something is fishy with the factory suspension install?

Pretty sure nothing to do with Runflats!
Pirelli cinturatos RFT 18s fitted and no issues with what your talking about. - Also recently fitted Dunlp winter sport 4Ds RFT and again no problems.

yea... stock suspension is quite soft somewhat bouncy
coilovers or MPS will cure this. don't cheap out with just springs, the bounciness might be even worse at high speeds |

Apparently, the standard coilovers are too soft for higher speed, in particular on the Autobahn. This weekend I was trying to reach the limiter (i.e., tried to hit 250 km/h) but I felt really incomfortable doing so as the whole car rolled around like a drunk sailor.
Unfortunately, there is no way to change this behaviour, expect for changing coilovers. Adaptive suspension is NO remedy. Maybe it works under other conditions, but it is still way to soft for driving on the Autobahn. Therefore, I will bite the bullet and invest in a "KW Variante 3" which will be set up by Wolfgang Weber, a well known coilover/suspension specialist (and former Rallye European champion) here in Germany. |

No havent had a chance, but the car feels a little less bouncy now that I have around 1500 miles on the car, but still not perfect.

Does anyone still feel the F30 is bouncy? I have M Sport with 19' inch wheels and feels more wobbly/bouncy than before. Could it be suspension or run-flat? is there a fix or TSB for this? I'm curious if my suspension is busted.
Also feel the stock run-flats are terrible.

Was this is in Comfort/Eco modes? I've noticed something similar, but putting the EDC in Sport mode, resolves all waveyness, just alot more planted at higher speeds.

Replacement runflats with regular tires (+E60 steel or more expensive F30 alloy spare wheel set in the trunk) and stock dampers with Koni Sport (if your car is non-xDrive)- this is the way to go to eliminate that jumps.
