Multiple Component Failures

I had my engine replaced earlier this year due to hydrostatic lock (had a previous thread about that) and since then, I've had the water pump, thermostat, starter, and alternator all die on me. The dealership tells me that all of the original components were installed back into the car and only the engine was replaced.

I'm just trying to figure out if anyone else has had all three of these components fail within a short time period (a few months) or if I am some anomaly. It just strikes me as odd that all of these things have failed after having the engine replaced.

I'm starting to wonder if the electrical issues are stemming from the original water incident.

Sure sounds like an electrical issue...I could see the starter motor and alternator fouling in the same time frame, but the thermo is a total outlier. Either really poor luck, or you have an underlying electrical problem. If your car has seen serious water, would not surprise me.

Well, I couldn't prove that it was caused by the original "puddle" so I went ahead and had the alternator replaced.

At this point, I'm done. Anybody wanna buy a 2008 335?
