Sport or Super Sport Springs for 435i?

Hopeful to pick up my 435i M Sport by the end of the month this wait is a killer! In the meantime, Im already thinking of mods I can do as soon as she comes in hehehe A drop is on my priority list and H&R comes to mind right away. I just recently saw that they now have all types of applications on the 435i from springs to coils:

http://www.hrsprings.com/application...ts/4/1654/2014

I wanted a noticeable drop for this daily driver, but not looking for the slammed look or to track it. Comes down to sport or super sport springs for me...From pics I really liked the drop with sport springs on the F30, but as for the super sports it seemed too low for what I'm looking to achieve. However, lowering figures seem different between the F30/F32..anyone else on the same boat? As of right now Im thinking of going super sports because sport springs only lower by about half an inch?!?

Neither, get springs+struts or coilovers. My advice is to spend a little extra and do it right.

Get the sport springs, a nicely matched strut/shock combo from Bilstein, and call it a day.

Thanks for the reply guys. Guess ill wait a little bit until I see more 4er H&R spring setups around. It wouldn't seem worth it buying the sport version if it only lowers by about half and inch but we'll see how the drop is in pics/person. Also is there a group buy for the bilstein shocks? For that price combo I even consider coilovers...

Yes a drop like that would be nice and would make more sense.

Super sports will absolutely be to much drop for a car with DHP, return them and get the sport springs or Dinan springs when they come out in the next "X" weeks.

You will be riding on bumpstops and bottoming out frequently.

The f32 is 1.2 front an .8 rear for the super spots which is less than the f30 sport springs.

Andrew, Correct the suspension geometry and the stock ride height of the F32 is slightly different than the F30, however I've found
the H&R actual drop is +/- 20% of the published drop. I was unaware the drop for H&R was different.

The sensors associated with the adaptive suspension that are measuring the ride height will see
The car loaded and naturally stiffen the suspension, to a point. Racer20 can speak more about the Control Philosophy of the system and may be able to give a summarized functional description.

Taking that into consideration I personally wouldn't run Super Sports on stock dampers let alone make major changes to adaptive suspension components and associated hardware that controls the components electronically.

If you have access to a shop and labor is a convenience (which it may or may not be in your case) try it out but be cautiously optimistic.

Hopefully it proves to be a good setup, especially for those who attend track events.

Good luck.

I tried to change them but they shipped them almost immediately. They will be here Monday.

I have a feeling you are right based on my research as well but, I guess we will try. Hate to be the guinea pig but I guess I have no choice now.

IMO this drop would be best for me, but still worried about the ride quality. Really good to hear that you are going for it Andrew! I wanna make a purchase in the next couple weeks so please keep us updated on and how it goes and of course pics when installed!!

Why not just send them back knowing the drop may be too aggressive. It would be a shame to waste all that time/money on installation.

Well. The sports might not be enough of a drop and I have to get my car ready for a Video shoot. Time is not on my side as far as waiting is concerned.

I did call eibach and they were willing to send me a free test spring when they come to america in a month.

One thing to note is how much H&r lowered their 428 at Sema. 1.7 inches with their coil over kit so as long as the springs don't sag and I have a feeling they might I should be fine with the height. whether or not the suspension will freak out or not is another story.

Springs arrived.. What do you know the box has f30 320/328/335. I matched the part numbers and they are the same as the 4 series.

I could care less about price and more about the spring being the correct rate for my car. I doubt the 328 n20 and 435 use the same spring. I should hopefully have them put on very soon. I am nervous though!

So I have the 428i m sport model. I put some aftermarket 20 in wheels on and I'd like to lower it a bit but still make it a comfortable ride. I plan to go with the less drastic HR sport springs. In addition to the springs, what else do I need from HR to ensure continued comfortable diving? Also, can anyone recommend a good shop in LA area to have the work done? I'm aware of the M shop but there's a wait list and it's a bit far. Thanks

Check out Auto talent and speak to sam. Springs is all you will need. Enjoy!
