Ignition Coil Part #'s
Changing a bad ignition coil and i noticed that the new one would not plug back up to the harness. Turns out there's a little ridge on the coil that acts as a 'key' and the one on my new coil is different than the other 5 in the car. Did bav auto send me the wrong part or will it still work if i cut the little tab off and just plug it in?
BMW OEM # 0 221 504 463 Bosch # 0 221 504 470 BTW even the oem coils say "Bosch" on them b/c they're the oem supplier, but the only physical/visible difference is the little key/tab/mthrfckr. Anyone else encounter this issue? Any help is appreciable.

::UPDATE::
I took a razor blade and drill bit and removed the little tab. Car runs awesome.

Good work! I just bought the Bosch, so I don't know exactly. I guess I would recommend going w/ that next time. What was the price difference or reason you went w/ the other one?

This was the Bosch that I bought. Like it was so annoying. Bav Auto said it was the correct fitment...

Just the bad one. Although many people had others go shortly thereafter including myself. If you don't mind taking it apart multiple times then you can just replace the bad one. |

Bosch is the OEM supplier. You can pay extra $$$$ for them to say BMW on them of you want, but they are the exact same plug and coil. |
