Ugly 19 inch black wheel?
I am disappointed that 19 inch black wheel is not 100% black as seen on some test cars.
Instead, it has mixed color in the wheel (black and silver) and looks weird to me. Anyone else disappointed with this? I was so happy when I read that they will offer black wheel on dealer launch car guide. However, I think I am just gonna get regular silver 19 inch wheel on my M3. |

Yeah, they are kind of odd. The M6 Gran Coupe similarly has painted wheel inserts but it uses a grey color which gives it depth. Maybe the competition package will sort it out, otherwise paint them or go aftermarket.

All black would look too band boyish and ugly. I think this is just the epright tone. Amazing.

Agree, I'm not quite happy with the wheels (apart from the colors). And since I always use to take OEM wheels I was hoping they'll develop the M3 wheel design (from E46 and E9x), but instead they took an evolution of the M6 and M5 wheel design with only 5 double-spokes.

I was also hoping that the wheels will be completely black (like on the test mules). Now I will be forced into buying after market ones, and storing yet another pile of OEM wheels in the garage. Damn it. As if I needed more trash in there.

The OEM wheels are all painted, even when they are silver. You have two options. You can send the wheels to a local shop that powdercoats them black. It doesn't matter if you get black or silver in that case, actually. Or you could have someone just tape off the tires and paint the remaining surface that isn't black.
I agree that the full matte black on the test cars looked better than this wheel. Audi does a "black optics package" on all of their cars that has this look.

The best I can translate is boy band-ish, meaning typical of the boy bands. However, what boy band wheels look like also .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I am not going to toss a perfectly good set of FORGED wheels. I will keep them on.

Anyone who lives in an area with shitty roads and enjoys the wheel/tire warranty. I had MORR forged wheels on my 550 and now they're cracked/dented and unable to be resold.

If the 19's are going to look like the wheels in the OP, I'll pass and get the 18's (..or wait a year and see what the CP wheels look like). I may even keep the reps currently on my 335i and use them on the M3. The offsets are aggressive enough.

Looks like they've been inspired by Porsche's turbo II wheels and failed miserably in capturing the allure. I agree they look terrible ( the M wheels not Porsche's )
