Intro thread
Like the title suggests, I am new to the forum and subsequently the car/brand as well. I did have an interest almost ten years ago in the e36 M3, just did not have the means at the time.
Anyways, Two weeks ago I traded in my higher mileage G37x in for an 07' 328xi with 37k on the clock for around 19k. From what I saw in the marketplace at the time, I believe I got a fairly good deal. I'll attach some pics. Also, any suggested reading material would be appreciated as I am new to the E90/E92 platform. |

A few things i have yet to research. -This car is a 1 owner vehicle maintained its whole life at Salem Oregon BMW, whats next on the maintenance schedule? (38k Miles) -Any known issues with this car i should look out for? -Black kidney grills. Plasti dip the oem kidneys or buy aftermarket? -Amber colored angel eyes. Lame? Ive seen a pic of them on a white M5 and was quite fond of the look. -Any must have mods? (sorry for so many noob questions, i know plenty in the Honda/Nissan scene, unfortunately my german car knowledge is lacking) Thanks again to everyone. |

Welcome,
I think the aftermarket grills look better, maybe match the reflectors with the paint color on the front will help the look. Not much performance mods for the 328 that are worth the money! You can lower it even with the xdrive if you want! It's a great car, ENJOY |

Welcome, how are you finding the BMW in comparison to the G? I mean in all areas, not just the fact that it has less power than your previous car! These 2 brands seem to like to duke it out, curious how someone who made the switch finds it.

Nice choice over the Infinity G37x, I used to have an e36 M3 white. Loved it.

G37x: Pro's: Cheap power, Reliability, Doesn't look as boy racer as a 370z, Comfortable for long drives, fantastic exhaust note. Con's: Its Japanese - Interior build quality has a steeper downwards curve in wear/tare, Looks Great new - 2 years out it shows it age. Handling cannot be compared to a 3 series, i find the BMW truly does provide's inspiring handling - It just feels safe and hunkered down. G37 Buyer: Young and wants power or Old and is a cheap bastard. 3 Series buyer: Someone who fancies German engineering. Someone who drove all entry level luxury commuters and has a keen eye for build quality, handling, looks, etc Just my .02, hopefully no one loses their panties over my concensus. |
