Matte Black Spoiler on BSM?
So I bought an M Performance Spoiler in Matte Black from the dealer yesterday and I'm torn about whether I should keep it matte or have it painted to match the rest of my Black Sapphire Metallic car.
I'm trying to tie in the M rocker film which is matte black, so it doesn't look too random. What do you guys think? Ever seen a matte spoiler on a black sapphire car? Got pics to post? Wife says it looks unfinished and I sort of agree. But I'm also liking the way it stands out…would seem pretty subtle if it were BSM like the rest of the car. Anyhow, let me know what you think. |

Go with the matching paint! I actually got the flat black m spoiler as well ordered it online received it next day at 9am. I am leaving it flat black on my MG though.

clicked the link for the coupon special I received in my email took me to shopbmwusa.com, then went and put the M performance spoiler in my cart then it switched me to BMW of Newton( I live in NY, so Newton, NJ isn't that far off) I put the coupon code in which was almost 30% off and it deducted the spoiler down to $185 from $250 and free shipping and no tax so it was a pretty good experience.

black sapphire won the day!…in both the poll and in real life. had it painted. looks really sharp and very OEM but almost matches too well - to a point of being hidden.
i'll probably always wonder what could have been. lol. |

Any pics? I got mine from Bimmian in black sapphire metallic to match my car and I'm pretty happy with the appearance.

Paint the lip SMB to match the car, and do your reflectors to while you're at it!

Looks good! Thinking of doing the wheels to? I would go with something powder coated Satin Black.

wheels are definitely next on the list. i was originally thinking matte gunmetal m5 reps but now i'm thinking it's not aggressive/menacing enough. went to the dealership for service the other day and my wife had trouble finding my car among the sea of other black f30s. i don't blame her because unless you do something radical, it's still a pretty conservative-looking car overall.
so all that said, i may go with gloss black wheels even though i'm usually not a fan of murdered cars because you can't see any of the detail in the wheels unless up close and in-person. may be necessary with black sapphire, you know? |
