\'08 BMW 328i Sedan: Seatbelt and airbag light is on (picture in the description) HEL

All of a sudden last night my 328i decided it wanted to throw a seatbelt and airbag warning light at me. At the same time. And it stays on no matter what even if someone is sitting in the passenger seat and the seatbelt is clicked in. Or if someone isn't sitting in the passenger seat. Or if someone isn't sitting in the passenger seat and the seatbelt is clicked in. What could be going on? What's necessary to fix this? I would hate to have to take it to the stealership.

(That service engine soon light is because I have to replace some spark plugs and coils which I'm going to do on Monday).

First of all the spark plugs and coils service due will NOT trigger the service engine soon light. Unless they are due. You are getting a code which is probably due to defective "MAT SENSOR" I belive there was a recall but not sure.

I had mine replaced by warranty years ago...

Misfires due to faulty plugs/coils would trigger a SES light.

Like I said, a scanner would tell you. Without that you're just guessing.

Hello. I have 2008 BMW 320 (e90). My problem was similar with seatbelt and airbag light when someone sit in passenger seat.. Dealer didnt go for a recall mat sensor so i found another solution, to buy a bypass emulator, to keep the computer to think that seat is always occupied. Everything worked fine, until someone was sitting there, in moment when noone was there - seatbelt light is on and that stupid noise to put on seatbelt.. I found a code to remove that seatbelt chime (SBR_BEIFAHRER_1 and set it to nicht_aktiv in ABG module with NCS Expert..) Okey, the sound is now gone, but the light is still on while noone is there. I dont want to always put in passenger seatbelt while im driving alone to get rid of the seatbelt light, so i wanted to ask is there some kind a code to disable that seatbelt light? Every help would be appreciated.
