What makes you avoid other cars?
So I was at Wally World today and typically I'll park away from everybody. I mean I'll be out there in the boondocks usually, but because it was to be a quick in and out stop, I decided to park close by. When I got back I noticed a car that was parked really close to me, like just barely in their space. Man, I hate that crap. How hard is it to park in the god damn center? Well, this car had dents all over the driver side, the side close to me. My first thought was, "Shit, this person could care less about their ride" and I proceeded to inspect my car. Whew, no dents, no dings. I'm outta there while I'm ahead.
As I was leaving, the synapses in my brain began to fire. Something that doesn't happen as frequently as they should, and began to think about the things that are red flags to avoiding other cars/motorists. Here's what I came up with. 1: Dented up cars(They don't care about their cars, they won't think twice about yours) 2: Elderly/infirmed drivers(Old is one thing, older than dirt is another) 3: Women(sorry for that jab ladies, but many of you really suck at driving) 4: Tasteless Ricers(That crowd that's trying to get it right, but nobody accepts Monopoly money. They try too hard to prove themselves) 5: Big ass SuV's and Trucks(they're certified psychos sometimes) I'm mostly observant of other motorists around me and most times try to isolate myself on the road. I feel better when there aren't a bunch of cars surrounding me. Anyways, what do you guys notice that'll get you to avoid other autos on the mean streets of America? Got any good stories?

I don't. I park in the most logical space of my choosing and go to the store
Not a ding, dent nor a scratch in over 2 years (except for one self inflicted "wound" caused by hauling a piece of folded up DIY office desk furniture and leaning over the back quarter panel, not realizing my coat zipper was rubbing into it like a horny teen on prom night as I was leaning over into the back seat to secure it with the top down.) Got lots of looks on the turnpike that day |

Few days ago I saw a brand new 2014 3 series parked way back at Walmart. Basically at least 5 to 10 spaces away from any other parked car. I was driving my commuter beat up 1990 Honda Accord with a primer gray front lol. I was really thinking of parking like 2 inches from his side lol just to joke around haha but who knows, he might have slashed my tires. It was obvious that I would have parked there completely on purpose.

But seriously, I try to park next to newer or more expensive cars because I think the owners might care a little more or be more careful. Avoid any kid haulers like the plague! |

When available, I try and park next to the grass medians. That way someone can only get to one side of my car. Other times I park away from everybody. Only to come out and find people parked all around me. Have not figured that one out yet.

two door cars are generally bad.
good cars: premium brands, mini-vans (with sliding doors). |

I park next to curbs usually far away, but if i do park close i look for other bimmers and/or similar nice vehicles. Other than that I agree with your list.

I ate the Fact that when you go to the supermarket or to the shops and you park at the back of the car park out of the way, there's always some idiot that parks right next to you when theres like ... 100 extra spaces. that really boils my p&ss
I tend to stay away from cars with baby seats or blinds in them, pick ups, old people and cars that are old..... although some old cars are looked after .... the majority aren't and a lot of people see cars simply as a means to get from A to B. They don't appreciate that to some, their cars are their pride and joy/hobby |
