HPFP - #4

Hi,

I'm getting HPFP #4.
The original, #2 about 17 months ago, #3 about 8-9 months ago, #4 going in today or tomorrow.

My total time in the shop since I got the car has been almost 2 months.
If this was a new car, it would be classified as a "lemon".

Really, a HPFP every 8-9 months?
When will they get this stuff fixed.
Dealership is reviewing my service and repair history.
They are also calling BMW NA.

I can't imagine a new fuel pump every nine months, out of warranty.

I have had three other bimmers over the course of 22 years and I only replaced a fuel pump once. My E30 M3 needed a fuel pump after 11 years and about 200K miles.

I expect a fuel pump every 100K, maybe. Every 15k or nine months, never.

that sucks, but I am somewhat curious about the miles put on the car in those time frames.. I mean, use would wear it out more than time alone would..

curious to you have an oil cooler . my 2006 build 335 e92 has the original pump . the dealer here claims they haven't done one , the culprit appears to be high ambient temperatures. I'm in a moderate climate zone on the west coast of Canada we have warm winters and cool summers
